Dear San Bruno Park school families,
SBEF has had an exhilarating and successful year, filled with engaging events and enriching programs for our students! From a District-wide Lego Robotics competition and music classes to our first annual Back-to-School BBQ, SBEF continues to support San Bruno Park School District students with excellent educational opportunities.
In a 2022 study, California ranked 33rd in spending per student – almost 13% below the national average. What is clear is that state and local property taxes are not enough to fund an exceptional education. SBEF, an independent and volunteer-run nonprofit organization, is trying to fill the gap.
Since 2005, SBEF has been giving hundreds of thousands of dollars per year to educational programs directly supporting our students, teachers, and schools. Our mission is to give San Bruno children a brighter tomorrow by providing dedicated funding to music, science, technology, and art, as well as professional development for our teachers.
This past school year, SBEF provided over $425,000 to fund enrichment programs for students and teachers that might otherwise not exist.
Parents, community members, and teachers have joined together in our Schools With A Heart Community as SBEF donors to promote a culture of excellence at our schools. Their contribution shave added to generous support from our corporate and foundation donors, including YouTube, San Bruno Community Foundation, Artichoke Joe’s, and Summerhill Housing Group. But we cannot sustain these programs without your support.
Did you know that just $10 a month funds music classes for five of our students?
We ask that you consider making a $10/month donation ($120/year) or if possible, a$50/month ($600/year) donation, to make an impact on San Bruno’s schools and students. Click here to join us!
As you will read in our 2023-SBEF Summer Newsletter, it’s been a great year! And we look forward to another great school year in the fall, filled with exciting and innovative music, art, and science programs for our students, as well as support for our teachers and community!
Thank you for your support,
Heather Latta
