New Year, new Board member!
Alexis Petru is our newest Board member, joining the San Bruno Education Foundation Board in December 2019. She spent much of last year as a volunteer for SBEF, doing grant writing, social media and other outreach.
Alexis moved to San Bruno in 2007 and was immediately impressed by the “City with a Heart’s” sense of community. She became even more invested in the local community when she started a family and joined the San Bruno Parents Club in 2012 and when her oldest child entered the San Bruno Park School District in 2017.
She is a firm supporter of public education and believes deeply in the San Bruno Education Foundation’s mission of providing quality academic enrichment programs to all San Bruno students.
Alexis has worked as a communications consultant, environmental journalist and environmental programs coordinator, and she brings her experience with communications and community-organizing to further the SBEF’s mission.
Alexis has a son in first grade at John Muir Elementary and a preschool-aged daughter.
