You’ve heard of #GivingTuesday, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving that has become an annual holiday for donating to charity.
Now the San Bruno Education Foundation invites you to participate in our Giving Tuesday campaign: #GivingSchoolsDay.
Our goal is to raise $20,000 to benefit San Bruno schools during the month of November before Dec. 3, this year’s Giving Tuesday.
To participate, make a tax-deductible donation to the SBEF and post about it on social media, using our hashtag #GivingSchoolsDay. Check with your employer to see if it will make a matching donation; many companies make special matching donations just for Giving Tuesday.
To help spread the word about our campaign, we encourage you to include a photo of your child with your post, reminding your family and friends the reason for your donation: our kids.
In the photo, share the following message – either as text or on a sign your child holds up: “Why I Donate #GivingSchoolsDay #SBEFkids” We’ll share your posts and photos on our Facebook page with the community!
If you feel uncomfortable sharing your child’s picture on social media, take an “unselfie,” where your child holds up the sign over his or her face.
