We’ve told you about the music, STEM and SEAL language programs the San Bruno Education Foundation supports, as well as the professional development opportunities we fund for our teachers.
But the SBEF has also proudly stepped in to fill funding gaps identified at our individual schools, including:
- Foreign language program licenses at Parkside Intermediate
- A “Cash for Class” teacher recognition event
- Support for “Summer Reading Counts” and “Attendance Matters” initiatives
- Support for the District’s “Portrait of a Graduate” strategic development
Last school year, we supported the District’s partnership with nonprofit Partners in School Innovation to engage faculty and staff at Parkside Intermediate to develop a collaborative plan that will transform Parkside into a 21st century school incorporating the latest teaching methods and lay an educational foundation that prepares our students. This initiative was supported by a generous $84,000 Strategic Grant from the San Bruno Community Foundation.
