SBEF Receives $240,000 Grant to Fund Technology for Teachers

Great news to end Teacher Appreciation Week!

The San Bruno Education Foundation is excited to announce it has received $240,000 in grant funds from the San Bruno Community Foundation to provide San Bruno teachers with the most up-to-date digital tools to support their online teaching.

The grant funds will pay for new laptop computers for every teacher, from transitional kindergarten to 8th grade, in the San Bruno Park School District.

The San Bruno Community Foundation approved this grant funding to ensure that San Bruno teachers have access to proper technology to support distance learning during the COVID-19 crisis and beyond. When schools are able to reopen, our teachers will need the most current technology to unlock the full potential of a 21st century education.

Last month, the San Bruno Education Foundation, San Bruno Community Foundation and other businesses and community groups partnered to provide $100,000 in equipment and internet service for San Bruno families in need, ensuring that all San Bruno students will be able to participate in distance learning. Thank you again to the San Bruno Community Foundation for such a generous donation to support our wonderful San Bruno teachers!
