SBEF Releases 2020-21 Annual Report

The San Bruno Education Foundation has published our annual report for the 2020-2021 school year.

With the COVID-19 pandemic raging on, the 2020-21 school year presented many challenges, including distance learning and then hybrid distance/in-person schedules. While many of SBEF’s academic enrichment programs, such as music and science, were placed on hold, we still found other ways to support our students, teachers, staff and community.

Some highlights from the last school year include:

  • Remote Learning: SBEF collaborated with community groups, government agencies and businesses to raise $340,000 to provide all San Bruno students with devices and internet access for distance learning, as well as new laptops and training for our teachers.
  • School Supplies Drive for Remote Learning: SBEF held our first-ever school supplies drive, raising over $1500 to make sure our most vulnerable students received the proper supplies to help them succeed during distance learning.
  • Virtual Art Initiative: SBEF partnered with San Bruno’s art studio and wine bar Pinot’s Palette to bring virtual art classes to our students during remote learning.

Check out our annual report to learn more about our programs and accomplishments last year, as well as our funding sources and partners.

We thank our San Bruno community — our school families, donors, community groups, teachers, staff and more — for your support and resilience during these challenging times.
