5 Reasons To Join A PTA When You Don’t Have A Child At That School

Did you know that you can join a school’s PTA — or make a donation — even if you don’t have a child who attends school there?

That’s right; anyone can join a school’s PTA or PTO, or make a donation. And both PTA memberships and donations are tax deductible!

Parent-teacher organizations are important because they support special school events, fund classroom supplies and campus beautification, and create a sense of community on campus.

Here are five reasons to join a PTA when you don’t have a child enrolled at that school:

  1. You have a preschooler and want to begin supporting the elementary school your child will attend in a few years.
  2. You’re a neighbor and want to help the public school down the street from you. You know strong schools make strong communities.
  3. You have a 5th grader and join the Parkside Boosters to support your student’s future intermediate school.
  4. You have a grandchild, niece or nephew at a local school and want to contribute to their education ands school community.
  5. You are a San Bruno resident and want to support our city’s one intermediate school, Parkside
