It’s important for students to have the right school supplies to succeed during distance learning, but not every family can afford school supplies for their children.
That’s why SBEF launched its first-ever school supplies drive last month, and thanks to our community and donors like you, it was a great success!
As of last week, we raised $1,225 in donations, which we divided among the District’s six schools proportionally based on the percentage of socioeconomically disadvantaged students at each school. We split 20 bags of school supplies we collected between our two Title I schools, Allen and Belle Air. A Title I school is defined as a school where 40 percent of its students qualify for the free or reduced-price lunch program.
If you still wish to donate, you can purchase supplies from our Amazon wishlist, and we will donate them to students in need at Allen and Belle Air. Or you can purchase supplies for Parkside art students who couldn’t otherwise afford them here.
Thank you for helping our most vulnerable students get their school supplies!
